The seed of Donoho's Jewellers was planted when Jean Donoho began a small business selling jewelry to her friends. She was very successful, selling primarily gold, and it wasn't long before she and her husband, Tom Donoho Sr., realized this would be their future.
In 1979, they came out of retirement and opened a small jewelry store in The Woodlands area called 14K Co. Jewelry. About five years later, they relocated to a larger, free-standing store on Sawdust Road. The store name became Donoho's Fine Jewelry, and this location remained their home for the next nine years. The entire Donoho family was now working full time at the store.
Over the years, the Donoho's built a reputation for high standards of quality in their jewelry, exceptional customer service and the personal relationships they forged with their clients. As they grew, they added services like jewelry and watch repair as well as custom design.
In 1999, Jean and Tom decided they were ready to travel and spend more time on the golf course. They sold the business to their son Barry and his wife Cindy, who continued to build the business, expanding the designer collections and watch lines. Barry and Cindy worked hard to grow the Donoho's brand through national magazine ads, and their participation in many charitable events in Houston and The Woodlands. It wasn't long before there was a need for a larger location.
In 2001, Donoho's Jewellers opened in the current location at 9590 Six Pines Drive. At the time this store was being constructed, the only amenity in the area was The Woodlands Mall. After opening at this location, the store's offerings grew once again, and another jeweler was added along with an additional watchmaker and quite a number of staff.
In 2007, Donoho's Jewellers became a member of a larger family of jewelry stores, once again expanding its offerings and capabilities. Most of the staff remained, including Store Director Richard van der Dys. This new relationship gives Donoho's the ability to source diamonds and jewelry more efficiently, offering our clients the very best value. Today, Donoho's Jewellers is well known in the fine jewelry industry as one of the country's premier jewelers.
